Pumpkin Patch Adventure 🎃 Halloween Action Story for Kids

It's almost Halloween and we need to decorate! Kids, help us on an adventure to the Pumpkin Patch. We'll walk through a crazy corn maze, repeat patterns in the bakery and go on a bumpy hay ride. Kids will pretend to pick out 5 pumpkins and finally decorate the Jack-o-lanterns in this audio Halloween action story.

It’s almost Halloween and we need to decorate! 
Jackolanterns would be really fun for the porch, but we don’t have any pumpkins! 

Do you know where we can get real pumpkins? 

Kids: “Pumpkin Farm!”

That’s right! Today we’re going on an imaginary trip to the pumpkin patch.

Are you ready? Stand up and let’s get moving.

Start by walking in place 

Keep moving your feet 

I see an entrance with a sign that says “Corn Maze”

Let's try and make our way through this crazy corn maze. 

Ok, Take 2 steps forward, 1,2 good!

Next turn to the right and walk in place

Try hopping on 1 foot,

Now turn to the left and walk in place

Trying hopping on the other foot.

Good, now take 1 giant step forward. 

Can you Jump up as high as the corn? Wow! Great job 

There’s the exit! 

Let’s jog in place 5,4,3,2,1

You made it! 

Mmmm. Something smells really good. Let's check out this bakery. 

They have all sorts of good jams and baked treats.

Can you say this pattern with me? 

apple, pumpkin, apple, pumpkin, apple, pumpkin, apple, pumpkin… 

What comes next?

Apple

Ok try this one…

Apple, berry, pumpkin, pie, apple, berry pumpkin pie, apple, berry, pumpkin… PIE!

Mmmm. Are you hungry? 

Here’s a piece! Gobble it up. Yum! 

Now it’s time to go find some pumpkins!

I see a sign for the pumpkin patch. We need to take this hayride out to the fields.

Sit down on the ground and put your legs out in front of you. 
Are you ready? It’s going to be bumpy.

Here we gooooo!!! 

Bounce your knees up and down. 

This hayride is really bouncy! Weeeeeee!

Keep bouncing and shaking.

I see the pumpkin patch, we’re almost there.

We made it!

Let’s stand up and pick out some pumpkins.

Can you pick up 5 pumpkins and put them in the wheel barrow?

Bend down and pretend to pick it up.

Pick up a small pumpkin

Now a tall pumpkin.

Now pick up the biggest pumpkin!

Great job!! We found our pumpkins. Time to decorate them. 

Now let’s sit down on the ground and paint the pumpkins.

First we’ll paint circles for the eyes. 

Take your imaginary paint brush. Dip it in the paint and draw 1 circle.

Now dip it again and paint the other circle

Can you make a triangle for the nose?

Now the fun part! What kind of pumpkin face will you make? Happy, Silly or scary? 
Show me with your face! Oooh that’s a good one! Let’s Paint the mouth on the pumpkin.

You did it! You made a great Jack-o-lantern!
